If you’re thinking about a tummy tuck, you might benefit from this blog featuring an Abdominoplasty before and after.
In this article, we share details and images from a patient case study and reveal some information about this individual’s abdominoplasty recovery.
Abdominoplasty Before and After
Dr Samuel Yang, Plastic & Reconstructive surgeon recently performed a Radical Abdominoplasty on a woman in her mid-30s who was experiencing back aches and wasn’t comfortable with the ‘overhang’ on her abdomen.
While there are several tummy tuck options available, in this instance a radical abdominoplasty was the most suitable.
Following the procedure, the patient had six (6) weeks off work. While she was able to return to her normal activities after this, it took a total of three (3) months for her to feel completely recovered.
In addition, her surgery scars are continuing to fade and lose their purple shade.
An abdominoplasty or a tummy tuck is a major operation, and it could take 3 months (if not more) for you to feel like you are fully recovered.
Here are a few things to be aware of:
- If your job is physically demanding, you may need at least 6 weeks off work.
- Physical activity should also be avoided for at least 6 weeks and you won’t feel like you’re back to your usual physical strength for at least 3 months.
- Driving should be avoided for at least 1-2 weeks, if not longer.
- The recovery time is going to vary from person to person, but we run through after care and some expectations here.
